St. Michael's School

Designed to provide children with a group living experience in a home-like environment under the supervision and direction of trained staff, the Group Home Program affords participants the opportunity to utilize the educational, vocational, social, and religious resources available in the community. Typically, these children are no longer in need of the degree of the structure and supportive services offered by the residential setting and they have presented sufficient internal control, problem solving skills, and socialization capabilities to adjust to a group living situation in a community setting.

The philosophy of the community homes incorporates daily life skills into a supervised group living experience. Students residing in these homes will be preparing to return to their own home or an independent living arrangement. These students require exposure to life skills which will enhance their self-esteem, foster independence and promote responsible and self-sufficient adults.

St. Michael’s has four Group Homes located in: Williamsport, PA, Tunkhannock, PA, and West Pittston, PA. We have a home in Pine Grove which can accommodate ten girls from Schuylkill County.
